Brain Rot Revolution

Description

Brain Rot Revolution was conceived as both a playful experience and a cultural critique. The project asks: what happens when you feed an AI the very thing that fuels our “brain rot” — memes, noise, and fragments of internet culture? By embodying Shoggoth, a many-eyed AI entity born from cosmic horror and now a meme mascot for AI alignment fears, players must literally move their bodies to train and break the algorithm. The result is chaotic, humorous, and unsettling: a warning wrapped in play.

The rationale behind this project was to transform an abstract cultural phenomenon — algorithmic overload and doomscroll fatigue — into something tangible, social, and interactive. Rather than addressing these issues with didactic commentary, we chose to use embodiment and absurdity. By turning memes into bubbles and players into tentacles, we translate the intangible fuzziness of “brain rot” into a felt, shared experience.
